Despite a great performance by Nashville pitcher Shohei Ohtani, the El Paso Metro Stars defeated the Nightcaps by the score of 5-0 at El Paso Grounds. Ohtani threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Devin Smeltzer, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Colin Poche was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 7 save opportunities.
El Paso right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 131st hit of the season and put the Metro Stars ahead, 1-0.

The win makes El Paso 66-80.
