Ragin Cajuns Make It 5 Straight with 2-1 Win
|
No one was more impactful than Wander Franco in the 2-1 Memphis win over Seattle. Franco, who is tied for 7th in the OLL in hits with 172, went 2 for 3 with 2 singles. The winner in relief was Danny Coulombe. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-1. Aroldis Chapman converted his 26th save in 32 tries.
Memphis designated hitter Jon Berti contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 129th hit of the season and put the Ragin Cajuns ahead, 2-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Seattle skipper NHFoged , "and it cost us."
The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Ragin Cajuns.
