Metro Stars Down Ragin Cajuns, 7-3
|
El Paso pitcher Rony Garcia did his part in helping his team beat the Memphis Ragin Cajuns, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Garcia, now 6-8. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Colin Poche, credited with the save, is now 3 for 6 in save opportunities.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was a prime factor in the win for the Metro Stars. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, the two-time All-Star hit a 2-run single. He was 1 for 4, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Garcia told the El Paso Bulletin.
