Jabberwocks Score 4-2 Win Over Albuquerque
|
The Albuquerque Isotopes got a sterling performance from pitcher Miguel Diaz, but the Greensboro Jabberwocks still prevailed, 4-2. Diaz threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball. Vince Velasquez picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-11. He struck out 9 in 7 innings. Austin Adams got the save, his 21st in 25 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for Greensboro, had it not been for Jeremiah Jackson, the 21-year old second baseman . Jackson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Greensboro up, 2-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Jackson.
With the win, the Jabberwocks improved to 62-67.
