Sycamores Snag 8-5 Win
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Orlando Arcia, the Brooklyn Sycamores defeated the Baltimore Archers, 8-5. Arcia went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Sycamores. Brooklyn pitcher Brent Honeywell Jr. got the win. He's now 5-6. Carl Edwards Jr. was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts Brooklyn at 75-46 for the season.
Arcia had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the Sycamores. Coming up with the bases loaded and Brooklyn trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Arcia told the Brooklyn Citizen. "Whatever it takes."
