Simules Take Down Fury, 4-3
|
The Simules grabbed a win, 4-3, at Seattle Fields, overcoming a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Shane Bieber. Bieber went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The win puts New Orleans at 62-38 this season.
New Orleans used a clutch hit from Paul Goldschmidt to get the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Simules ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
Goldschmidt said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
