The Philadelphia Phalanx defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes, 7-1, at The Meltdown. Philadelphia left fielder Yordan Alvarez had a superb performance. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Garrett Richards got the win, improving to 5-2. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 2. With the win, Philadelphia pushed its record to 49-46.
Philadelphia relied on the hitting of Nate Lowe to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Phalanx on top, 1-0. For the game, Lowe had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Alvarez. "And not try to do too much."
