The Indianapolis Gearheads weathered an outstanding game by Charlotte catcher Victor Caratini to topple the Carp Streamers, 7-6. Caratini was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The victory puts Indianapolis at 38-55.

The result might have been different, had it not been for Michael Brantley, the Indianapolis left fielder. Brantley had a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Gearheads ahead, 7-5. For the game, Brantley had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Brantley told the Indianapolis Citizen.
