Musketeers Win at New York, 7-3
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Houston Musketeers and New York Yaks.
The Houston Musketeers picked up a win at Yaks Ballpark, knocking off the New York Yaks, 7-3. Starting pitcher Jordan Yamamoto played a key role in the triumph. Yamamoto, now 5-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Andrew Chafin earned his 13th save in 17 chances.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Brendan Rodgers, the 24-year old second baseman . Rodgers contributed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Houston up, 7-0.
"I still think this team can play even better," Rodgers told the Houston Times.
Houston now has a 4-game win streak.
